I guess I didn't get the memo that establishing a state religion is OK

You'd think that Bush didn't have to travel all the way to China to pander to the base, but n-o-o-o-o-o! CNN:

During his visit to the Gangwashi Church -- one of five Protestant churches sanctioned by the government -- Bush signed a guest book with the words: "May God bless the Christians of China."

Of course, there's no reason for me to regard Bush as my President--as a Democrat, I would have been screened out of the Partei rallies during the "election" of 2004, as well the Social Security bambapalooza, and any photo ops--or even as an elected President--after Florida 2000 and the continuing stench of Ohio 2004--or even as a legitimate President upholding His oath of office--after Treasongate--but even I, as a citizen, am embarassed and ashamed, for my country, that Bush, while representing me and mine abroad, didn't, in His great mercy, ask the God of His Choice to bless all the Chinese, and not just the Christians.

What a uniter!

Of course, the once-popular and increasingly delusional Bush may regard himself as the Chief Priest of the [cough] Christian States of America. If so, His behavior is entirely understandable.

Understandable, if reprehensible.
