Devious

That's some devious shit, pardon my French. And, Pelosi thought she'd be better off under an Obama administration, why, again?

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

Seems more ruthless with Dems than with Repubs, no?

If what we're learning is accurate. We did see the ruthlessness during the primary.

Commenter Che Pasa says this is Shock Doctrine right here in USA

From Digby's link--

Do you understand now that this is how the Shock Doctrine restructuring of our economy is going to proceed?

This bill is a Plutocrat's wet dream.

The states and localities are getting the shaft, you're getting $10 a week, and the fattest of cats are getting hundreds of billions -- soon to be trillions -- as Geitner announces his "bank reform" package on Monday.

Know what happens next?

Social Security and Medicare are gutted. Well, they have to be, don't you understand?

There's no money left to pay for Old People who should die anyway, and to take care of their silly "illnesses."

This is the Shock Doctrine in America playing out before our very eyes.

Dazzling, isn't it?

Shock Doctrine Can Be Turned Around

As per Klein, we need to make the plutocratic kleptocracy afraid of We the People:

Watching the crowds in Iceland banging pots and pans until their government fell reminded me of a chant popular in anti-capitalist circles in 2002: "You are Enron. We are Argentina."

Its message was simple enough. You--politicians and CEOs huddled at some trade summit--are like the reckless scamming execs at Enron (of course, we didn't know the half of it). We--the rabble outside--are like the people of Argentina, who, in the midst of an economic crisis eerily similar to our own, took to the street banging pots and pans. They shouted, "¡Que se vayan todos!" ("All of them must go!") and forced out a procession of four presidents in less than three weeks. What made Argentina's 2001-02 uprising unique was that it wasn't directed at a particular political party or even at corruption in the abstract. The target was the dominant economic model--this was the first national revolt against contemporary deregulated capitalism.

The pattern is clear: governments that respond to a crisis created by free-market ideology with an acceleration of that same discredited agenda will not survive to tell the tale.

If ObamaCo can't come up with a plan that will work, and communicate it to the people, things will get, well .... not pretty at all.

Why are "sin-eaters"

Typically some aimless token woman who had, at most, no more to do with the sin than 50 other people in the room, all of them guys? Strikes me kinda funny. What'll they do when there's no more token women to blame things on? Oh, I know, blame the sins on imaginary female parts, as in, "That Obama turned out to be such a pussy!" It just never gets old.
