If you don't like a word, just redefine it!

The aspect of Kansas Devolving that I really get a kick out of is that the SIC loons redefined science. Apparently the poor old New York the Times has dispatched Jodi "Girl Reporter" Will-Whore-Em out into the heartland, God help the heartland:

Among the most controversial changes was a redefinition of science itself, so that it would not be explicitly limited to natural explanations.

Wow! Republican Mind Science! Is that it? Christian Science? Hindu Science? Voodoo Science?

Redefining words they don't like is just one of those Republican habits that would make be laugh if I weren't grinding my teeth to powder.

Bush did the same thing on torture:

1. Redefine the law so that things that used to be torture, aren't any longer. Like electroshock to the testicles or bottle rape aren't the same as losing a vital organ, so they aren't torture. (Thanks for that logic, John Yoo, you Republican piece of shit. And sorry for the reduncancy, 'mkay?)

2. Torture is illegal.

3. Ergo, saieth The Appointed One, "we do not torture."

NOTE Hey, I bet those SICs in Kansas are going to be happy when their kids apply to college and the registrars break out laughing when they see the kids from Kansas. Unless the children of Kansas all go to SIC maddrassas like Patrick Henry [cough] University or Bob Jones.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
