Much as I prefer the new, class of 2004 Andrew Sullivan to the old, ungraduated one, he still exhibits the classic winger tendency to turn on a logical dime in the space of one or two paragraphs. Proposition #1:
Crisis = Opportunity
What we desperately need right now is less recrimination - can we all agree that the current crew is simply unhinged? - and more imagination with respect to exploiting the opportunities opened up by the moral and strategic catastrophe of the Iraq occupation.
Proposition #2:
This is Condi's chance. Take it, madam secretary.
Can anybody spot the small problem?

That Old Line
So many have used it, from JFK to even Condie herself - the Chinese character for crisis consists of two symbols: one meaning danger, the other, opportunity.
Certainly we are constantly bombarded with reminders of the dangers out there.
And they use it to create their own opportunities.
But what do I know?

As Long As It’s Bash Condi Time
I’ll jump right on because I cannot stand the pompous, incompetent twit. Got to see her at work up close during her stint as Provost at Stanford where she took an organization having a bit of a struggle and through utter incompetence and total insensitivity turned it into complete chaos. Sound like a familiar behavior pattern?
And then there’s Abstruse Sullivan, another great huge useless twit, who apparently didn’t bother to do any last minute Googling or he would have seen this characterization of Condi - by Condi - in Maria Bartiromo’s July 23 2007 Business Week interview:
“I'm a terrible long-term planner. I was supposed to be a music major and concert pianist, and here I sit.”
Well, no shit, Sherlock, we all knew that, except apparently Silly Sullie, whose top-of-the-page signature quote from George Orwell “To see what is in front of one’s nose needs a constant struggle” applies especially to those who have their nose planted firmly up their own ass.
Condi Rice has screwed up everything she’s ever touched. I dearly wish that she and the other closeted whacko Ann Coulter would just hook up already and go open a leather bar or something, be happy in life screwing each other over instead of the world.
As to Sullivan asking for less recrimination, hell no, HELL NO! There isn’t enough recrimination in the entire universe to make things even. I want great big huge steaming piles of recrimination, I want nothing but recrimination until every single one of these criminals are arrested and tried and put away for a very long time, and I want it done under RICO so we can confiscate every single penny of their ill-gotten gains and most especially the ranch in Crawford.
Has anybody checked out Condi's Adams Apple?
Just asking. I mean, maybe she and Ann share a common bond. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
