So Insty has linked to the petition to CPAC but apparently won’t sign it. He hasn’t exactly condemned Coulter either. (And Glenn, a sarcastic “Nice” doesn’t suffice.)

Boy, what would be hearing if a Democrat did something like this? Glenn would be telling us how this was all the end of the world and demanding an immediate public execution by smart bomb in a “target-rich environment” like Nancy Pelosi’s office.

Ok, I know this is going to seem stupid. But what the hell was she referrring to by not quite calling Edwards a faggot?

I mean, of all the insults one could throw at Edwards, and I can think of a couple of deserved ones *coughpanderertoreligiousnutslatelymuch?cough*, how the fuck did she come up with “faggot”? I mean, it was clearly sense-free; spoken purely to shock and get her name back in the public attention arena which seems to be her only purpose for existing.
Even odder is that nobody, Edwards included, has made mention of this aspect of the controvery, at least in the only media I’ve had access to the last few days. Nobody has said, “Well, is Sen. Edwards a homosexual, and if not, why did Ms. Coulter refer to him as such? Surely the public has a right to know. Back to you, Cokie….”

Ahem, I drift off into gratuitous insults of my own. But it would have made as much sense to say “Since you have to go to rehab if you call somebody a nigger, I can’t say much about Mr. Edwards at all….” (wait with coy expression for delighted gasps and belated applause from audience.”
Would have served her right if Edwards’ comeback had been something along the lines of “We in the Democratic party have always been more accepting of transsexuals and other groups scorned by the forces of Republican intolerance, so if Ms. Coulter is ever looking for a new political home we hope she would keep this in mind.”
Alas, my chances of being hired by the Johnny ’08 campaign reach a new low on the political options futures board, but there ya go.

Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs in a post declaring “I Love Ann Coulter” pretty much plants Ann a long lingering kiss with tongue over her Fox News appearance after supporting her faggot comments in two previous posts. Pam called for Edwards to fess up and complained about his nearly all gay staff her “investigation” uncovered….
As best as I can figure drinking the conservative GOP Kool-aid too long makes their women go insane.
