Insty shows his stripes

Insty quoted in the NYT on Domenech scandal:

Glenn Reynolds, who writes the blog Instapundit, said the bloggers were "motivated by a desire to get" Mr. Domenech.

"They didn't like him because he was a conservative and he was given real estate at The Washington Post," he said. "Their goal was to find something they could use to get rid of him, and they succeeded."

Is that all it's about, Glenn? This isn't about integrity or ethics or anything to you is it, Glenn?

Insty tried to walk this quote back [DCOW] in a blog post this morning (it was only his second post on this in the four days it's been going on) because even he had to realize that he came off as a right-wing hack in that article because, well, Glenn's a right-wing hack.

When faced with the resignation of Ben Domenech his first gut response was to say it was about lefties wanting to get Domenech fired because of his politics. He said nothing about the ethical impropriety of lifting whole passages from other authors until this rather feeble attempt at walkback this morning.

UPDATE And to highlight Glenn's hypocrisy, he mentioned Jayson Blair, um, a couple of times.
