Glenn: 'More secretive than a Cheney energy meeting. No shit, bro. There are parties, and then there are parties.
I hope this is all over the blogosphere. I love the gay republican couple at the end of the video, tells me all I need to know about this convention, yo?

I've been to conventions where I felt I was welcome,
exclusive of who I supported in the primaries/caucuses. New York was a blast, just because of the energy, even though there was not one party I could attend.
Here? It's private security lockdown city. The DPD are on the whole friendler and more relaxed than any factotem or guard that I've asked about a party inside a ridiculously-secured lobby.
It's not as if you're preventing a terrorist attack, folks, when some huffy chick in a little black dress can be gamed thus:
"Excuse me, but would it be appropriate to ask what type of party this is, without receiving a generic answer?"
"It's a reception."
"Like I said, a generic answer. Thank you!"
Of course, I expect to hear from the authorities.
And even though the big-time bloggers got turned away, as I posted last night, an ABC producer got arrested for gathering tape on just who was attending a function at the Brown Palace.
The only group for which this shindig will be lastingly fun will be the lobbyists. And they're blaming *Clinton* for the length of the campaign preventing the DNC from sharpening up their party ethics rules.
Has Code Pink been working out?
And by "working out", I mean getting good media coaching. Nice job all around by them: Keep smiling, stay happy and entertaining, but mince not 1 word.
(And yeah, this is not my father's Democratic Party. F*ck these people. With sharp instruments.)
The IOZ, Arthur Silber, Mourning America Crowd win this one

In this post Greenwald serves as a proxy for all of us who still believe in fairies. Sky? Blue. Water? Wet. It's short, read the whole thing.
sorry, CMike, but silber's off target there
Glenn is the real deal, and if he's not radical enough for purists, he's still doing the best job of anyone out there on issues like FISA (present company excluded, feh). i'm not interested in hearing anyone complain of GG or his lack of pure essence, thanks.
all about Glenn...
Glenn is good on very limited topics -- but this video shows how limited he is (not to mention his blog-elitism... showing up with Jane Hamsher! ooh! I'm getting an A-list tingle up my leg!!!)
He pretends to care about corporate influence on the Democratic Party, but what this is really about is proving what is already glaringly obvious -- that the telecoms pretty much bought their immunity deal -- and he only cares about it because he covered that specific issue obsessively.
The Glenn Greenwalds and Jane Hamshers are this decades "radical chic", and their faux boho, arugula- Democrat facade fits in perfectly with the Obama mindset.
IAWCD...
...about Greenwald.
I guess I need to hang out there more to get the feel of that blog in general, but with that said... yeah, I'm feeling kinda slimed after reading a couple of posts and comments.
And what's with the cheap swipe at Amy Goodman/DN?
And what's wrong with screaming "F*ck Fox News!"? That worked because it was actually on the teebee.
Now that our Security State has made it so that street protest is pretty much completely neutralized, and often serves as nothing more than street theater (when it's been Youtoobed properly), and now that Goodman can be made to look like a parody of a local-market "investigative reporter", I applaud her and Greenwald for being willing to look like clowns to reflect/transmit some of the truths that someone might take away from the event.
Frankly, the posts and responses there mostly annoyed me with their smug superiority.
That was IOZ not Arthur Silber
What's the biggest political accomplishment by the left/liberals/progressives in the last seven years? Who says its the Democrats winning back the Congress in '06? How about that minimum [sic] minimum wage increase Speaker Pelosi always mentions?
Our side really needs to win a few before we start passing out MVP awards. And Amy Goodman sure isn't surprised by anything going on in Denver. Goodman has no interest in seeing Speaker Pelosi prevail this November against her challenger, Cindy Sheehan. Greenwald, as I understand it, will not support a non-Democrat against a Democrat.
"It's amazing"
What's amazing about it?
[ ] Very tepidly voting for Obama [ ] ?????. [ ] Any mullah-sucking billionaire-teabagging torture-loving pus-encrusted spawn of Cthulhu, bless his (R) heart.
Yeah, On Code Pink...
That was the first thing that struck me about the video, too. Code Pink seemed ver "with it", that night, if that makes any sense.
