A blog (from "web blog") is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed newest first. All Corrente posts are front-paged; there is no up-rate or down-rate process. Corrente posts are almost entirely community moderated. We encourage a clash of ideas, and do not encourage a clash of persons.
If you are the author of this post, see the Edit tab ad Help (and Advanced Help) for detailed documentation.
I like to point out now and then that the "Republican"(sic) party is pretty much a group of Monarchists -- you know, privatize everything, why not just privatize the executive branch? They've got no actual basis in their ideology for rejecting that notion. People don't have any rights that corporations are bound to respect. Corporations are monarchies with an aristocratic executive class. The whole "run the government like a business" thing is absolutism by stealth.
You read about this stuff in histories of the sixteenth or seventeenth century. But it's all still with us.

Voting just encourages them
As a woman, I'd gladly give up the franchise. NOT.
(I stand by my subject line, if I amend it to "voting for one of the two big parties...")

Gutting the jobs guarantee AND taking the franchise away...
... from the peasants.
