Here’s one from a skinny girl out of Saskatoon who can sing and write a little. Look closely early in this video at her unusual fret work, necessitated by a residual weakness in her left hand from the polio she contracted as a child. She couldn’t play standard guitar chords so instead she developed her own unique tuning, her own instrumental sound, in part as a result of this “handicap.” I first saw her play in Hollywood in early June of ’68, I think that was while she was living with David Crosby and before she took up with Graham Nash. Hearing her was like watching birds fly, like sunlight on aspen leaves.

I think I wasn’t picking up the full embed code for some reason. I’ll try to be judicious with the new toy.
