Medicare’s 43rd Birthday is July 30th - Medicare is known as one of the most successful social programs in the United States. Its universal coverage for those 65 and older creates the ability to redistribute benefits to those who are neediest, it pools risk in order to share the burdens of health care among the healthy and the sick, and through Medicare, the government protects the rights of all beneficiaries to essential health care without putting profit interests first. Medicare beneficiaries are overwhelmingly satisfied with their coverage, and now it is time to give improve and expand this wonderful program to everyone in the country! Join a group near you! Medicare Birthday Parties are happening all over the country to celebrate the importance of Medicare and to fight the privatization of one of our most beloved social programs. Join the National Call in Day! Call your Congressional Representative!!! Have your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors call too! Call toll free: 1-866-338-1015. Find out if your representative is a cosponsor of HR 676 here. If so, thank them! If not, then follow this sample script: Medicare has worked successfully for 43 years in providing quality health care to residents 65 years and older, while keeping administrative costs down. A Single payer, Medicare for All Health Care approach to reform is the only answer to the health care crisis in this country. Sign on to HR 676 today!

Join the post card campaign! Send post cards to your representative’s office in DC asking them to support HR 676 and thanking them if they do. Bake a cake and visit your representative! Have a party in your congressional district and invite your representative and the media.
