Just because I'm a *real* socialist (I've been screaming all over Facebook today that Obama is not a socialist because some people have been calling him one AGAIN) doesn't mean I should be dismissed or patronised.
I want single payer.
I want progressive change.
I want honest government that does for the people. IN fact I'm a socialist because I believe that the only reason government should exist is to create and run welfare programs for its citizens. (Well that and I hate capitalism.) ;)
The Occupy movement has been teaching people consensus. That is what I have been using for years now in activist groups. I LOVE consensus and feel that it is finally getting much needed attention.
In the Wobs (IWW) we use Robert's Rules. See, I'm not opposed to democracy, I'm opposed to the sorry sack of * that passes for democracy in this country.
