Just mean even for asking the question.

The Transition today launched "Open for Questions," a Digg-style feature allowing citizens to submit questions, and to vote on one another's questions, bringing some to the top of the list.

Sounds good, let's ask some questions!

Oh, but wait, the ability to flag "inappropriate" questions seems to be very popular with those who wish to shield Obama from ever having to answer actual, substantive questions. When you flag a question as being inappropriate, it gets removed from the front page.

Questions such as

"In light of the recent corruption scandals (Blagojevich, Rangel, Jefferson, Stevens, etc) that have dominated the political scene,is there any ethics legislation being crafted to actually curb corruption and prevent another wave of nixonian cynicism?"
Yeah, this question was removed because people thought it it might offend the Obama's delicate sensibilities. The next four years are going to be so much fun.

Yes, I went there

but concluded from looking at it that it wasn't serious. No real comments or questions are going to get through. Just the chorus.

Open for Questions

I haven't even bothered to go, but tell me, is there a question about the future White House puppy, Michelle's inaugeration dress choice, or what church the family will attend? Inquiring minds want to know...I think.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

What grassroots is all about

I always hate hearing the term "grassroots" because it always seems to mean "people who agree with me" rather than its more obvious bottom up approach meaning. The online grassroots movement always seemed to mean "my circle only". The only acceptable candidates were those who had "grassroots" support from certain organizations or online personalities when, in fact, even establishment candidates have armies of volunteers who operate on the bottom-up approach. I would not be surprised if the same people who came from the Krazy Kos Krew brought with them their special brand of "grassroots" and "citizen participation" efforts they brought to their wonderful community.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
