Legacy parties wheel bus into position, prepare for permanently higher unemployment rate
Primary tabs
Buried in the R/d noise, this message:
Indeed, even adding an average of 95,000 jobs each month, unemployment is likely to remain around 10 percent through this year and not fall below 6 percent until 2015. And while Americans are likely to save more for big-ticket items such as homes or cars, it means a slower recovery for a nation that has lost 8.4 million net jobs since this recession began in December 2007.
Yay! More unterbussen! Oh well. There's always "guard labor"!
This is Versailles. Both legacy parties are preparing for this "new normal," and both share the blame. I'd say "shame," if Our Betters could feel shame. Which of course they cannot.
Why not just give a paying job to all who want work? It's not like we don't have infrastructure that needs rebuilding.
NOTE I imagine the next step will be to cut Food Stamps.
UPDATE Atrios says "raise the alarm." To whom? The Democrats? They already know.
