The lemmings start jumping off the cliff

In the end, 19 House Democrats backed the [war funding] bill who had opposed it the first time, although some cited loyalty, not agreement with Obama's plans, as their reason.

"I want to support my president," said Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), who changed her no vote to a yes.

So, at the end of the day, Democrats who opposed the war funding voted for it, said bill also giving $108B to the IMF for global financial support. On the same day, the White House was firmly denying assistance to California. US states can just hang out to dry while we make sure that European banksters are okeydokey.

Support for O is way more important than whatever may happen to be the contents of some bill. Just close your eyes and say yes!

Update: I see that Greenwald says legislators who changed their votes out of 'loyalty' have abdicated their primary reponsibility.

Called Schakowsky

expressed my disappointment. Yay - another representative who just does what she's told. Oh wait - I'm in Chicago - that's how it works here.

Jan, Friends don't let friends drive countries into the ground

for bad wars.

Sheesh.

Did the Dems go along with the IMF bailout for European banks?

What did it end up as? $108B or so?

There were threats of WH not supporting fresh reps who were in close districts, btw. Rahm was playing hardball. And won.

Think he and Obama are going to listen about healthcare?

Neither do I.

Actually, while the Dems may be setting themselves up for being pushed over a cliff, I read that actually lemmings do not blindly follow the animals at the front. Can't recall actual situation...might need to check that out, given our jelly spined Dems.

Yep, the lemmings are a myth but the image was perfect

for this situation. Certainly, the level of betrayal is reaching epic proportions. Also, it was interesting to hear that Jane Hamsher never expected to win this fight but thought it was worthwhile to do so anyway. Just to flex the muscle, I guess.

The total was $108B for the IMF which, as I understand, it was amended to this bill. The article on that is in the 2nd link in my post above.
