Hey, I'm just quoting a spokesperson. What could possibly be wrong with that? Easing into it:
[PA's Max Lesko], speaking for the Obama campaign, could not help him with his issues checklist. "I don't want to sound like a broken record," Lesko said, "but this campaign is about politics, not policies."
And there you have it.
Quoting the Obama web site is OK, right?
"You don't need to debate policy or discuss the day's headlines. You have a very personal reason for investing your time and energy in this campaign – that is the most compelling story you can tell."
And to quote another Obama campaign official:
"He looked at me, and the look in his eyes was worth 1,000 words," said [Kim] Mack, now a regional field organizer.
Look, I'm just quoting Obama campaign spokespeople, OK? That's showing Unity, right?
NOTE Please, can I just have some boring bullet points? Please?

parisan hogwash in a professional screed
Just read this in a long BradBlog discussion of a possible takeover of a election machine manufacturer:
"Hart's move has sent Sequoia/SVS executives into a legal and financial tizzy and --- perhaps taking a page from Hillary Clinton's campaign book"
WTF? Is petty partisanship so important to these idiots that they must infect every discussion? Are these people so little that they can't for a minute live in the large picture on the ongoing election battle? Sometimes people are such trash.
Perhaps
it's time we stop pretending that the "Progressive Blogosphere 1.0" was fundamentally progressive in the first place. Here.
When they are more interested in telecom immunity than Universal Health Care (and here), when they are willing to use "rules" to stifle democracy since it hurts their candidates, when they are willing to attack former allies who disagree with them (i.e. Krugman, Elizabeth Edwards), isn't it time to reevaluate where are different allegiances are?
totally, gg--
this is great, following a link from your first link to talkleft--
"... He can not imagine that Obama's Unity Schtick is precisely what the DLC and Joe Lieberman have been preaching for decades and that the progressive blogs were supposed to be fighting AGAINST. ..." -- http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/2/23/...
the problem is the big blog boys aren't called on it at all--calling this stuff progressive (and themselves) is like the GOP calling themselves patriots and heroes--they've used the same sort of "war is peace"/"Operation Clean Skies"/etc shit to hide very damaging, retrogressive, and failed strategies--and people are actually buying it.
ok...
first sentence of P2 is my projection that PB1.0 is more interested in telecom immunity than UHC.
A complete lack of policy apparatus

Look, this isn't really a comment filled with any hate...
Come on Lambert, someone admitting that this campaign is "about politics, not policies" is merely stating truth -- that's the way it is for ALL politicians. Nobody's above that particular fray.
That's funny
Because there is a candidate talking about policy, and what it can do to improve the lives of Americans.

More boring bullet points about policy, please!
Sure, a politician is a politician, elayne. But at least we have a choice about how they do politics, and what they can be held accountable for.
