Lord Kos melts down

Lord Kos digs in. Here’s why Clinton supporters aren’t welcome on his site:

527_3

Except Lord Kos forgot to read his own FAQ:

the_faq

And I take remarks like this personally:

Meanwhile, Clinton and her shrinking band of paranoid holdouts … Clinton’s campaign is counting on low-information Democratic voters selecting Clinton based on little more than name ID….

Stuck pig squeals, I’d say.

Lord Kos, it gives me great pleasure to say:

Go Fuck yourself. You’ve turned your site into the functional equivalent of an Obama 527. Your guy is back-pedalling on Universal Health Care, dog-whistled the right on Social Security, lacks the judgment to deal with an economic crisis (Wright, Rezko). And then there’s playing the race card, the sexist dog-whistles, and the OFB. No thanks. I don’t want the package, or any part of it.

NOTE Can I use the word “cult” now? As in, say, Grand Cultmaster Kos?

Since I guess you're practicing the Kos version of "DCOW"...

Hence no link to the GOS, check out this link…

The money quote from the Lord: “…as far as I’m concerned, she doesn’t deserve ’fairness’ on this site.”

Blind Stuck Pigs

So does Kos’s quoting of Al Giordino mean that he thinks Obama is grassroots oriented, adheres to a 50-state strategy, plans to immediately stop the war in Iraq, and will blunt the influence of lobbyists and the DLC?

Is this the same Obama who: 1) has invigorated the grassroots by encouraging independents and Republicans to be Democrats for a day, 2) runs a 50-state strategy that does not include Michigan or Florida, 3) has the same voting record on Iraq that Hillary does only used rightwing talking points about playing chicken with the troops during the funding showdown, has refused to rule out using mercenary soldiers like Blackwater, and 4) relies on DLC-approved Austen Goolsbee for an economic advisor (BTD at Talk Left “[DLC Chairman Al] From said Mr. Obama had an intellectual, and not just tactical, connection to the D.L.C. ’I mean his chief economist, Austan Goolsbee, is a fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute, which is our think tank,’ he said.”) and 5) has close ties to a number of lobbyists and has registered federal lobbyists working on his campaign, including at least one campaign worker who has registered as a federal lobbyist during the campaign (read more here about Obama’s K Street Project, http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/obam…).

I’m not saying Clinton doesn’t have weaknesses in these areas, too. But the idea that support for Obama and opposition to Clinton is tied to these principles is laughable. There isn’t much difference between the two on these issues and where there is a difference, Clinton is just as likely as Obama (if not more likely) to have the better position.

I am impressed, however, with Obama’s ability to get folks to simply repeat whatever he says about himself (I’m against lobbyists, I’m running a grassroots, I’m not DLC) without applying any critical thinking whatsoever to his claims. Just as they do when saying awful things about Hillary.

What’s funny about this

What’s funny about this shit, is that it came up as recently as Cindy Sheehan’s threat to run a primary campaign against Nancy Pelosi. She caught a lot of shit on Daily Kos, where the official line was that it was a partisan Democratic, not an ideologically Liberal site.

And that shit went down what, 6 months ago? It’s not even like he wrote his FAQ 5 years ago and then forgot. This shit should be fresh in his mind, because the Cindy Sheehan debacle was quite the news for over a week.

What's even funnier

is Kos’ 180 regarding Obama. He wrote this on February 22, 2007, when Obama hired Robert Gibbs as his communication director for his campaign:

[O]ne can’t help but get a little cynical hearing Obama talk about “changing the tone” and all that bullshit, while hiring a well-known smear-meister best known for his work trashing other Democrats.

And then just 4 days later, Kos has a change of heart:

Maybe I shouldn’t be so cynical.

Obama repudiated the hardball tactics of his own staff. And he made it seem he was clueless about a major story dealing with his own campaign.

In a front page New York Times interview published Friday, Obama suggested that his marching orders to stay on the high road were ignored, quite a public flogging.

Obama, in his two-week old campaign, is offering himself as the antidote to a cynicism he asserts is poisoning U.S. politics. One of Obama’s stump lines goes something like this: His rival in the Democratic primary “is not other candidates,” he says, “it’s cynicism.”

Gibbs and Wolfson mixing it up is campaign business as usual. The back-and-forth, however, exposed Obama to a risk — being called a hypocrite.

Obama decided not to handle matters internally, however.

“I told my staff that I don’t want us to be a party to these kinds of distractions because I want to make sure that we’re spending time talking about issues,” Obama told the paper. He added, “My preference goinard is that we have to be careful not to slip into the game as it is customarily played.”

…Still, Obama didn’t smack down Gibbs private, he did so publicly, in about the highest-profile publication in the country (and its front page).

That’s called “sending a message”.

(p.s. I’m still cynical, but receptive.)

Make that very receptive.

i wonder if hits/ads are down?

this is damage control—is he worried he’ll lose ads/$$?

this is hysterical--Lieberman on McCain --

it’s exactly what Obama says! —

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/17/…

“”To me, one of the great problems we have in Washington, before we can solve the real problems, is partisanship,” Lieberman told a group of reporters and editors at The Advocate’s Stamford office Friday afternoon.

The country cannot begin to address problems such as failing public schools, health care problems and global warming until there’s a dialogue between players in both parties, he said.”

Replace lieberman w/Obama and you wouldn’t know.

as we say at chez dyke: well, alrighty then!

/must do with WI accent/ gosh that joke is hard to pull off online. dammit, i magically invoke Madison. then you’ll all understand it…

anyway…um, CD will speaketh poorly of no blogger at this juncture. however:

it’s Mad Max meets Day After Tomorrow. CD has only one fur, one spear, and one flint. Lord Kos and Lambert stand before her, each with a hunk of freshly killed meat in their hand.

CD chooses lambert every time. every time.

I worship the author of the Federalist Papers...

…. but I must confess I don’t know what accent he spoke in. [rimshot, laughter].

I’m trying to get my account, and my content, deleted off Kos. Since an itty-bitty CMS like Drupal could do that easily, I assume a professional level CMS like Scoop could do so easily as well. Heh.

So far, all they’ve done is removed my ability to comment. Typical.

I dropped them a note saying I had no wish to be associated with the functional equivalent of an Obama 527. That should get their attention.

[x] Any (D) in the general. [ ] Any mullah-sucking billionaire-teabagging torture-loving pus-encrusted spawn of Cthulhu, bless his (R) heart.

CD--i immediately pictured it

as Obama vs. Clinton in that Tina Turner Thunderdome cage, and who i would bet on to win (no contest, really) ; >

Well of course lambert wins every time.

the meat is fresh, he sometimes has fish, and yes, that’s seasoning in lambert’s bindle.
