Economic apocalypse my grandmother's wall-eyed three-legged cat's left hind foot. This is a money grab, and the orchestration is positively Rovian. Do any of y'all remember the S&L crisis of the early 1980s (Reagan pres, Bush VP, Neil Bush architect of a credit crisis that cost the American Taxpayers something like $10 billion before it was over)? Are we just gonna stand around and watch 'em do it to us AGAIN???

The Fix is In
Early this am I called the usual suspects in DC. I pointedly mentioned DeFazio's plan to my Oregon senators and Reps as a plan that might actually work. Instead of hearing the concerned interest and note taking I detected last week (before the house vote), all I got today was prefunctory thank you for calling.
Naked Capitalism is reporting over 300 pieces of pork in this new improved bailout. And, it's not just the money, but who is being recruited by the FED to administer this bailout....can you say members of the Carlyle Group? Add that to the fact that the senate is leaving town after tonight's vote and you must conclude that the fix is in: House Dems must fall in line or be blamed for the coming catastrophe. Pfui!
