Lux 'n Borg

To be fair, there are nuances in this post beyond this statement. Still, this kind of commentary should give us pause:

Progressives need to understand that our fates for several years to come are tied, fundamentally and completely, to Obama's success as President.

Perhaps he means "tied to" in the way one's leg might be tied to an anchor or large rock....

The Obots still think they can hammer everyone

into supporting their lousy candidate. It's never occurred to them that they have to earn it. And using misogyny to fuel your campaign and ignoring the grotesque excess of your followers isn't the way to do it. Nor is using GOP talking points against a candidate with a superior health plan.

If they believe progressive accomplishment is tied to Obama's success for the next several years, then they should have behaved better or found a better candidate. I'll support stuff I genuinely support, but I won't life a finger on his behalf either. If he fails, that's his problem.

"Fan" is both accurate and not dehumanizing.

(Accurate given the particularities where applied, anyhow. "Bot" can never be accurate.)

Hi, BA

Please see these re: what I'd like to be house policy on "Obots."

P.S., I recognize that I'm flying close to the flame with "Borg," but I think the shoe fits (as per the second link), given the call to assimilate-or-else.

Well, Mike Lux can

kiss my ass! I'm very progressive and I was not tied to Obama during the election and I'm still not tied to him. I am 'Republican' in one thing; when Mr Obama starts to fulfiull some of my values. then I might tie myself to him, and then it will only remain as long as he fulfills, and how many he fulfills of my values. Hey Mike, can't miss what we haven't had for the last forty years (date that back to 1968 - all of which I've lived thru!).

Tied to Obama

only in the sense he may drive yet more 'progressives' out of the Democrat party.

BTW, I use Democrat party as a perjorative to distinguish it from the Democratic party which apparently burned its tents and departed for apartments in the Watergate long ago.

I'm happy if progressivism dies

Cause I'm a liberal. Progressives may be happy with undemocratic elections, but this liberal isn't. My political philosophy is fundamentally at odds with those who *know and accept* the legitimacy of the primary (or the 2000 election for that matter). Electoral theft is a fundamental assault on individual liberty and brushing it off as "procedural complaints" is a tacit approval of that. A liberal government cannot be built off that. (In addition to the truthiness.)

As far as I'm concerned, FKD=Big Money Dems=progressives. To hell with them all.

I'm not sure which policies and behaviors

Are aptly called "progressive" vs. "liberal." But "liberal" is the emblem that scares fauxgressives, so that's something to be said for preferring it.
