if i understand your headline correctly
i agree with it wholly.
not everyone who steps in or steps up is uniformed. in fact, in most every crisis, the great majority are NOT.
since sept 2001, the indiscriminate, commercial exploitation by the american media of uniformed americans has bothered me greatly. i see it as another building block creating a highly authoritarian america.
