McCain And The Media

"Which White House?"

White White House, indeed. That quote is priceless. I had to read some of the comments on the video to get who was who, though.

I'd always thought McCain's relationship with the media would die of benign neglect. If this is the press team he has 'helping' him, he may very well bury his own campaign all by himself.

wow...

Here's the context of that clip -- the discussion was about camera angles and backgrounds. McCain prefers certain camera angles because of the melanoma scarring and the "swelling" on one side of his face (its not actually "swelling" btw, rather its "slackness" of his skin due to the removal of soft tissue when one of his melanoma was removed...basically, the stuff that holds your skin up was removed, and now it droops.)

I think that McCain's team is fully justified on inssting that his past illness not be used against him -- and that camera angles and lighting minimize the visual impact of his operation. Appearance should not be a factor in this race, and because McCain has been given a clean bill of health with regard to that melanoma, it should not be an issue.

But as to the question of the honeymoon being over or not -- the "media" involved were local reporters, and it looked to me like it was only one asshole who was the problem.

The "which white house did you work for" question was completely out of line, imho, because the job that she was doing (making sure that her candidate looks his best on camera) is an apolitical concern. Every candidate has these people, and while candidates probably prefer that those people support them, political ideology has nothing to do with their job.
