UPDATE: Obviously, news out of MI has already been discussed in a previous thread. My apologies for my inability to read. Now go back to being awed by the sheer genius of our DNC. I know I will.
Michigan do-over depends on Obama’s backing:
Legislation to set a second Democratic presidential primary for June 3 won’t be acted upon until and unless it wins the endorsement of the Barack Obama campaign, state Senate leaders said Tuesday morning.
snip
The do-over primary is backed by Hillary Clinton and some of Michigan’s most influential Democrats. But Bishop said Republicans have considerable misgivings about the prospect of authorizing a second election to begin with, and won’t consider it unless the Democrats are unified.
Oh, the height of hypocrisy that The Great Unifer is so divisive and crassly “doing anything to win,” our party be damned. Obama will succeed in running out the clock by Thursday.

It's all part of Lord Kos's 48 state strategy...
Now that FL and MI have taken one for the team, who needs ’em?

48 state strategy
Obama is channeling his inner James Baker. It just sickens me that so many Democrats are OK with this.
If There Is a Re-Vote, Kos Hurt Obama in Michigan
Because those who voted in the Republican primary won’t be eligible to vote in the new Democratic primary. Karma is a bitch, I tell you. See River Daughter.
But yeah, a re-vote is now unlikely in Michigan as well as Florida. That’s what people should be screaming at Obama about, disenfranchising voters in two of the largest states, not this Jeremiah Wright stuff.
Also, where are all those 50 Super Delegates who were supposed to pledge for Obama right after March 4? I don’t know, but I know one pledged to Hillary today - John Murtha (who I have mixed feelings on because while he courageously said what needed to be said about the war, he has some very skeevy financial dealings). See http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/3/18/…
Correction - Clinton Picked Up Two Super Delegates Today
In addition to Murtha, she also got West Virginia’s DNC Chair, Pat Maroney. See http://thepage.time.com/2008/03/18/clint…
You can add an update, Davidson...
or I can delete it for you.

Damn, and I can't delete my post!
I misread Kos’ post. I honestly thought this was “breaking” news. Damn. My apologies.
Well, at least, it includes Axelrod’s latest slam against Hillary Clinton, perpetuating the ol’ “She’d even kill her own mother to win!” myth.
Here’s my theory on why the fools that run the DNC think Obama can win: they’ll have some VP pick who’s either a woman or undeniably qualified to be president, and think it’ll magically shore up all Clinton supporters against McCain. Obviously, I have my, uh, doubts about this brilliant strategy—especially since McCain could outfox them by picking LA governor Bobby Jindal. (Imagine the D-Punjab ads Rove would be running).
