Mission accomplished: Bush to demand $200 billion for Iraq next year, as much as Vietnam

The Iraq war will end when the contractors, the mercenaries, and the flacks discover there is no more money for them to loot from the Treasury, when they discover there is a more profitable war elsewhere, or when the Chinese decide to cash in their winnings, and not before.

Mission accomplished! Harry, Nancy: Nice work. Maybe this term you can try for single digits?

what about supplementals

Surely this doesn't include the supplemental spending bills?! Isn't this just the budget? Has anyone ever added up the total Iraq spedning?

Can't you just point to the $$ and say the SURGE/War is not working? If it is more expensive next year than last, you have a problem.

This is insane.

What do you mean, not working?

The right people are making a whole lot of money, and only the little people are dying, so it's working, right?

We. Are. Going. To. Die. We must restore hope in the world. We must bring forth a new way of living that can sustain the world. Or else it is not just us who will die but everyone. What have we got to lose? Go forth and Fight!—Xan

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
