Move along, people, move along, there's no story here

Russia Today on the news blackout our famously free press has been imposed on WI, IN, SC.... Reporting:

"We wouldn't know it walking past a newsstand in the U.S. American newspapers feature the protests of other countries on their front pages -- right here, this is Bahrain -- but no mention of the 70,000 protesters right here on US soil, just maybe a tiny sidebar dedicated to the people right here in America fighting for their rights."

Joseph Goebbels would be proud.

NOTE Excellent catch by Susie.

Somebody

actually found my blog post and included it in the MoveOn wrap up email from the organiser out to the list of people who RSVP'd to the rally. Freaky.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.

Random term

A political operative who manipulates the religious impulse to attain personal or organizational power; in the United States, generally a "conservative" SIC.

Prob. back formation from "neocon" (neo-conservative). First seen by this writer in a column by Sidney Blumenthal excerpted back here.

Usage example: The theocons are setting up a madrassa to train staffers for the White House at Patrick Henry University.

I support Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

Americans United is dedicated to preserving the constitutional principle of church-state separation as the only way to ensure religious freedom for all Americans.
