Reid and Pelosi promised last week that they would at least confront the president next month over his wiretapping program, with Pelosi taking an uncompromising stand in a private conference call with House Democrats.
Way to mount that strong defense of our ancient* liberties, Nancy!
But I do have one question:
Even kabuki takes place before an audience. So what's with being "uncompromising" in private?
That'll show 'em!
NOTE "Ancient," because the right of habeas corpus, which Bush, with the complicity of the Democrat leadership, gutted, goes all the way back to the Magna Carta. It's not "just" about the Constitution, about about thousands of years of common law built up to defend the people against predatory monarchs. Harry, Nancy: Nice work!

Over the fucking law THEY JUST LET COME TO THE FLOOR AND PASS WITH DEMOCRATIC VOTES???? Apart from their absolute failure on substance, Reid and Pelosi should be removed from office for aggravated assault on every American's intelligence. I mean, JESUS. The last thing they did before scampering off on vacation was allow Bush to mount them violently from behind, and now they plan to come back to DC and demand an explanation for why their asses are so sore? They are fucking shameless.
impeach them all
I think the only way to get the message across is to start impeachment against Harry or Nancy. I think the only thing that will motive these people is to threaten their jobs. Their sweet, sweet deal they got going on.
And if you think ANY Congress-crook can be impeached, sorry they passed legislation that violates the Constitution, habeas, and our international treaties. That is against their oath of office, and probably on an abstract level considered treason.

Keeping this overview "in Private" IS a compromise... cannot be uncompromising. Nancy: we want our rights back. All of our rights. And we want to see you carry out the wishes of America IN PUBLIC!
Nothing about this will betray any National Secrets... unless it is a secret that Bush has turned the Constitution into a "one-from-column-a, one-from-column-b" Chinese menu.
