No Climate Change To See Here

While trying to photograph a passing airplane Friday, my camera caught this instead:

You should be seeing blossoms here

Yes, those are cherry blossoms, in January. It's not the Climate Change Cherry Tree, but it's only a few blocks away. We can't say this is a scientific study without an official observation at the CCCT, of course, but it's sure looking like spring will be here really early this year.

Afterword for Corrente readers: What with all the Plantidotes lately that have been about the coming of spring, I thought I'd post some actual sign of spring from my little corner of the Pacific Northwest.

The Climate Change Cherry Tree is something of a running joke at my blog. The link leads to an article that explains how I feel on the subject, albeit with some sarcasm, plus expository links. Please check them out before arguing with what you think I'm saying. I'm happy to argue about the stupid things I'm actually saying, but arguing about the stupid things I'm not saying is pretty boring.

(LA, Zone 10) bloomed in January -- crazy!! I just checked and so far no buds, but we've had a horribly cold January for this part of the country and last year was much milder.

It'll be interesting to see what else blooms off season this year. Kind of scary....

Blooming times vary here. Last year and the year before, the cherry trees bloomed about the normal time, but some flowers bloomed later. This year, it looks like the early blooming flowers will be out be February, which is really early.
