A blog (from "web blog") is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed newest first. All Corrente posts are front-paged; there is no up-rate or down-rate process. Corrente posts are almost entirely community moderated. We encourage a clash of ideas, and do not encourage a clash of persons.
If you are the author of this post, see the Edit tab ad Help (and Advanced Help) for detailed documentation.
... and I'm starting to understand how fundamental S&M is to the relationship between YHWH and man.
Any questioning or doubt is punished most severely. At this point in the Pentateuch, I'd say that the Christian Scientists have it right. God doesn't seem to want us to help ourselves. When life gives us a shit sandwich, we're supposed to eat it and praise his generosity. And keep giving his priests our firstborns and unblemished beasts.
The only thing the Christian Scientists seem to have wrong is that God doesn't seem to care much for people beseeching him. Yes, sometimes he gives them what they want, and then he burns them, swallows them in mud, and so forth.
I should have Num. 20 posted at the Bible Study later today or tomorrow....
