Pelosi throws FDR under the bus

Nancy "We are leaders" Pelosi on Barack Obama's Great Betrayal:

President Barack Obama's latest offer in the fiscal cliff negotiations would allow the payroll tax holiday to expire, meaning middle-class workers will see smaller paychecks in 2013. It also proposes a Social Security reform known as "chained CPI" that would reduce the benefits senior citizens receive through Social Security.

Additionally, Obama's latest offer would permanently extend the Bush tax cuts for incomes of less than $400,000. Previously, the president had insisted that taxes increase on families with income above $250,000.

Despite these changes, Pelosi said she could convince her caucus to get behind such a plan, if need be.

"Do you think you could sell it to your caucus?" MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell asked Pelosi in an interview on Tuesday.

"I do," replied Pelosi, adding, "Yes, the Democrats will stick with the president -- and maybe not every single one of them."

Hey, remember Biden's "flat out guarantee"? Or this: Bold Progressives "checked the website" in the 2012 campaign:

President Obama will under no circumstances agree to put your retirement at risk by privatizing Social Security, and he will reject any plan that slashes Social Security benefits.

Of course, chained CPI isn't a "slash," it's a slow bleed. So there's that.

Have I mentioned lately what an asshole Obama is?

More progressive caucus Kabuki on the way. They really are starting to seem complicit. Fuckers.

Don't you get it, Nancy? He is a party of ONE; he is his own damn party. You are not in it; I am not in it, no one is in it except Obama himself.

The Democratic Party will  pay the price for Obama's perfidy and conning the voters. He will never face an election again; DC Dems and future D prez candidates will.  Voters will not believe any of you.

And, btw, I cannot express to you how sick to death I am of being lied to.  By Obama, by you, by any number of political animals.

You don't seem to understand that cutting SocSec with the chained CPI will mean dire poverty for those now merely in penury and slowly sliding into  less than genteel poverty.  Obama wants to put us on a greased slide into dire poverty.

We will remember. We will remember in Novembers, many, many to come.

I find it hard to believe that what Pelosi says and does is that unpopular with House Democrats. She is still their leader, and has been despite having lost control of the House in 2010. Not only was she brought back to lead the minority, so were all the other failures who had been running things.

From the considerable distance from where I view events in DC, it sure looks like the Democrats in Congress don't have any real complaints with how things are managed.
