To begin with, all of the relevant facts -- who approved what, what the legal opinions say and what actually happened -- are well known inside the government.

Exactly. Leaving aside the spin on "relevant," Versailles really is Murder on the Orient Express, isn't it? They're all in on it.

We are the only people to whom the facts are not well known.
