    Hearing kabuki from Republicans on Gonzales lies...

    Listening to the extremely smarmy Abu G being "interrogated" by Republicans--which for some reason, gosh, what, NPR is reinforcing its suckitude by running first--and they're all focusing fucking news conferences!

    What an obvious diversionary tactic!

    The goal should be to get a perjury indictment, not mau mau Abu G on what he said when he wasn't under oath!

    7:04 to 7:28: Wall-to-wall Republicans.

    Then they mention Schumer, get a good Feinstein quote.

    Then back to Republicans again!

    Tomlinson's tenure worked, even though he left in disgrace. The career staff were brought to heel, and they know that the Bush team can do it again. Some NPR reporters are obviously more sympathetic to Bush than others, but they all know what they are expected to do. They are good professionals in that they do what they are told.

    One thing the cabal in the White House has shown is its compulsion to roll its enemies, and reward its friends with appointments they don't deserve.
