Obama effigy hanged at Christian college

A cardboard likeness of Barack Obama was found hanging from a tree, at George Fox University, with a disparaging sign attached that referred to a minority-scholarship program named after the Bible book "Acts."

No information is currently available about the perpetrator, but the reference to the program ("Act Six reject," read the sign) suggests that it was someone in the school community.

The real racists come out...

...and it is ugly and brutal.

At a Christian College, No Less.

*ugh* Disgusting.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

It Is Surprising

because the Christians are famous for their tolerance.

Sorry, I know what Christ taught, but an awful lot of Christian history is filled with intolerance and violence.

that school has a lot of explaining to do

as Obama gets closer to victory we are going to see a lot more of that

Definitely

If nothing else, Obama's run brings to the surface and to daylight those that want to make their statements. In a way, that's probably a good thing as disgusting as it is.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

That May Be The Upside

of this and the inevitable other horrible episodes we're going to see. Perhaps we will be forced to put this bullshit about transcending race back up on a shelf where it belongs. It may screw with Obama's campaign narrative, but it should also make it a lot harder for all those fauxgressives and the media to claim that we've somehow solved our race problem (which so many white people seem so very anxious to do, I wonder why?).

Just Remarking on my own personal experiences.

I've experienced far more racism from cultural Christians (i.e. those that fake it to fit into the culture), than church-going, Bible-reading Christians.

More racist than the fairy tale comment?

Yep, because its *real* and ugly. Too bad ObamaCo has been trivializing racism for the last 9 months. We could have been having a real discussion of race.

What GQ said. Now that the real wolf is in the pasture

what will happen when Obama cries "wolf!"? I think we all still see this for what it is, blatant and disgusting racism. Too bad Obama trivialized it, much more political capital in delivering that speech on race now than after Rev. Wright.
