Obama plays the "okey-doke" card in Ol Miss..

“Like Obama did in South Carolina, Obama is using racial language to attack Clinton in Mississippi. Obviously, to get chummy with the voters in language he thinks will work.

qouting Obama:
… .. “See, I was trying to explain to someone the ’okey-doke.’ Y’all know the okey-doke? It’s when someone’s trying to bamboozle you, when they’re trying to hoodwink you. They are trying to hoodwink you. You can’t say that he’s not ready on day one, unless he’s willing to be your vice president and then he’s ready on day one”. … .. “
end quote

It’s turning into a replay of South Carolina:

It was wrong when Obama did it in South Carolina, though it was blamed on Bill, and it’s just as wrong in Mississippi”.

I agree, and I think its a bit cocky at this point for him to be ruling anything out..
Correct me if I am wrong..but isn’t there still a primary going on?
My deepest hope is that Hillary win the popular vote, followed by the nomination, followed swiftly by a granting of Obamas wish, followed just as swiftly by a toss of the Obamessiah back to his freeper wannabe supporters.

He'll get a pass, as usual

from the media.

All it means is that he watched Spike Lee’s “Malcolm X” and obviously doesn’t care that the speech was fiction.

Funny how he picks up that southern drawl down there

You know the one…the southern drawl that Hillary was bashed with for DAYS by every media outlet.

I was about to give him a pass on the drawl

because they all do it… but then, yes, you’re right, I remember the coverage.

I wonder if they issue the free passes to Obama on a case by case basis, or whether Obama has a big shipping container full of pre-printed, pre-signed free passes back at campaign HQ? But wait! I think I know the answer….

Aw, lambert, don't -- the drawl's phonier than the hat!! N/T

Mississippi

Normally I’d be upset about Obama’s use of these kind of dog whistles, but I think in this instance it might be a sign of a bit of worry by Obama.

Mississippi is a state that is mired economically in the 19th Century and, as a result, IMO, it’s racial politics a century behind as well. And, yes, it’s terrible for Obama to play into that, but as a practical matter, he’s going to crush Hillary among blacks. Hillary is going to crush him among whites (and might win the delegates because of the gerrymandering even though Obama will win the popular vote). The racial politics are such that what the candidates do or say is largely irrelevant.

Which brings me to whether or not Obama is worried. He doesn’t need this crap to win the popular vote in Mississippi, blacks make up a huge portion of the electorate and he’s going to win them. Why is he pulling this crap? I didn’t like it in South Carolina, but at least I understood he needed it to win and he needed to win SC. Here he doesn’t need it. At least to win Mississippi. So the only reason I can see him pulling this crap is that he thinks he needs to run up the numbers. Which is kind of interesting, at least to me.
