Obama trolls going after Digby again

lambert's picture

Shit, they already wrecked her comments section once. Do they want to do it again? Here.

Why, at this point, would anyone imagine the OFB has any credibility about anything? See here for the latest ginned up attempt to change the subject, and the requisite refutations. The latest haka on WWWV is all about process, so of course it's red meat for these guys, unlike policy, which is a kind of "Eat your vegetables" thing. Unfortunately, nobody but the OFB cares about this shit. Even more unfortunately, the OFB think they're everybody.

NOTE OFB as distinguished from rational Obama supporters, of course. See Ranks, Dwindling.

UPDATE And speaking of bloggers being harrassed by Obama thugs, here's one they shut down. I wonder how many other small blogs have had the same thing happen to them, because they aren't as prominent as Digby? And it also looks like Markos did a good thing.

UPDATE Just thought I'd check WKJM, and of course WWWV is all over the front page. I'd say it drove Wright off the front page, except Wright wasn't on the front page. Odd. It seems the real problem is that this organization is registering a whole bunch of women for the general and making more work for the elections people. Reason enough.

It is an amazing sight

to see the OFB attack one of the most thoughtful liberal bloggers around.

So now, not being afflicted by CDS = being in the tank for Hillary (personally, I see nothing wrong with being in the tank for Hillary, but I digress).

What's Even More Pathetic

Is that as Obama Fan Boy Matt Stoller explains, WVWV is registering women for the general election. Hello? Remember the general election, OFB? Registering women is a good thing for democrats. But I presume Stoller's post will calm them down since Chris Bowers was good enough to point out at the bottom that registering single women would actually be good for Obama. So all those previous concerns about confusion should disappear now. It's good for Obama. Because it's obvious that nobody bothered to stop and realize it was good for democrats. Asshats.

I'm Betting a Lot of the Trolls Were Male

Just a guess, but I was already familiar with WVWV and I bet a lot of the more politically active women are. I knew that they’ve been around and are dedicated to getting women to vote. Here’s one of their more famous ads, that pre-dates the current primary crap:

And congratulations to the OFB, WVWV are stopping their efforts in North Carolina. Well done, boys.

BDBlue, thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Up until it became clear that single women favored Clinton, wasn't Rush Limbaugh the last person so vehemently opposed to WVWV? Such good company our "progressive" brethren are keeping.

But, as is happening with such great frequency this election cycle, all the bullying achieved, at least for this voting woman, was to cause me to reach into my wallet and throw them some cash. Bonus -- it's tax deductible!

So, in other words...

"This is pretty good"? Lie down with dogs....

A conspiracy so vast as to suppress votes by encouraging voters to register was always a little implausible. And now Stoller, as BDB links, demolishes the story completely. Too bad the OFB* don't have any checks and balances any more; they've become their own echo chamber. Sad.

NOTE * Among whom I do not number Lord Eschaton, despite his unfortunate vote in the PA primary.

In Other Words, lambert

The OFB are helping down-ticket Democrats already by stopping efforts to register more voters, most of whom - since the efforts focus on minority, poor, and single women - tend to vote Democratic.

I'm really amazed that none of these Blogger Boiz have ever heard of Women's Voices, Women Vote. Aren't these guys supposed to be politically savvy? Do they not know that one of the big pushes in recent years to try to turn red states blue is with women voters? But then look at how Atrios worded his post -

Women's Voices

Uh...this is pretty bad.

Women's voices = pretty bad. That says it all, doesn't it?

Careful, there, BDB

Remember also that Digby started out at Atrios, and that he encouraged her to strike out on her own. So, no, the headline doesn't "say it all." I would lay it off on bad sourcing.

I Like Atrios

But he could've headlined it "Robocalls In NC" or "Voter Suppression Shenanigans?" or anything else. But he didn't. He labeled it "Women's Voices." I give him the benefit of the doubt on his intentions, but he blew the headline on this one. And I think in doing so, he - intentionally or not - spoke volumes about the outrage that swept across the blogs today over an effort to register women voters.

who started the story

what I wanted to know is how did the story get started? Throughout this primary the GOP/media have tried to write racist things about Obama in a way that places blame on Clinton. Splitting Democrats racially is the only way Republicans win.

So exactly how did this story get started?

I have to work, or I would look it up myself, but perhaps Media Matters could examine this.

Institute of Southern Studies

Here. I've always had good feelings about "Southern Exposure," so this is distressing. But the same argument that the Unity Warriors are making, that because there are Hillary supporters on the board, the whole thing is a Hillary ploy, is right there in the article, and it's not a very good argument. So, quality assurance problems all round on this one.

Hillary supporters have infiltrated

the entire country. It's a diabolical plot.

Oh, they don't even need to infiltrate

They can use Clintonian Mind Control™ from remote locations.

In fact, some of the OFB are clearly being controlled from Mount Evil; it's the only explanation for their self-defeating behavior.

WVWV Isn't Even a Democratic Organization

It's non-partisan, aimed at getting all women to vote. It's just that since most wealthier women are already registered and already vote, the demographics of the women it registers tend to help democrats. None of which should be a surprise to anyone, WVWV has been around awhile.

Here's another write-up, a MyDD diary, explaining everything wrong in the initial report. http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/4/30/201822/287

myiq2xu, so true

Very funny! There is such a mental blindness to the fact that millions and millions of people have voted for Hillary. Like, half the democrats in fact!

Clinton supporters are silenced by the MSM and OFB by:
pretending they dont actually exist in any respectable way
calling them stupid and racist
pretending they're a bunch of cranky old aunties

Obama and his backers will have a serious problem with their own base of voters if he somehow squeaks out the nomination.

The stupid cranky old pigeons will be coming home to roost.

From a strategic point of view, the Clinton campaign has done a much smoother job of not villainizing the other team's supporters. They seem to have always had a better grasp of the end game. Very savvy politically compared to the Unity Pony express.

Yes, Limbaugh Attacked WVWV in 2006

And there was a front page article criticizing him for it at the Daily Kos. How soon they forget.
