If you have "no place to go," come here!

Obama's newly discovered, campaign-year, putative lineage

lambert's picture

Pardon my jaded and weary cynicism, but I don't think I've seen so many cases of "could be," "probably," "may be," "most likely," "lacking definitive proof," along with "surprising" and "extremely confident" since Peggy "It would be irresponsible not to speculate" Noonan first opined on The Big Dog and Monica.

Maybe it's true. But it's an awfully con-v-e-e-e-e-e-n-ient truth that just so happens to reinforce every wet-behind-the-ears ounce of narcissistic self esteem -- "Obama may blow American citizens to red mist without any due process, but by gawd, I'm no racist* because I voted for him" -- that permeates so much of Obama's shrinking base, especially the "creative [cough] class" [put down your coffee, it's a Chris Bowers special].

NOTE * Unlike you. Also too Nader Nader Nader.

NOTE The savage irony, of course, is that today the banksters own Obama, just like they own the entire political system and a lot of American citizens.

"her ancestors, known as white landowners in Colonial Virginia"
It means he was, thru mom, almost certainly, a descendant of slave owners.

Of course he had to be proven to be a descendant of the "first" slave in America. I mean, what would people think if his great great great somebody was the 10th slave in America?

Barf to the whole thing.

Well I've heard that All of us (earthly bi-ped sentient beings) are descended from one lady in Africa. In my book, that way trumps this bizzarre little (and conveeeeenient) item.

Who exactly did the instigators of this nonsense think would fall for this or care? Scary thing is, it could be a "micro group" identified by one of Camp Obama's "electoral analytics" teams. Yikes!

I can't stop laughing though about the choice of "first" (documented slave). First one to step off the first boat? First one to say: "I am the first enslaved african to set foot on this continent"? First one to come off the first boat dead from malnutrition and disease? I mean really.

This "discovery" speaks to a pretty high level of desperation, if you ask me!

Krispy Kremes in Thailand are probably not made with much high fructose corn syrup. HFCS is a construction of US sugar tariffs and corn subsidies. HFCS is used in the US because it's cheaper than sugar here. That said, obviously a diet of Western style junk food will lead to bad results wherever it's adopted. HFCS and cane sugar are both troublesome when consumed en masse.

Personally I go for the Dunkin Donuts in the Suvarnabhumi airport... I swear it's better than back home. Maybe because it's considered an upscale treat?

Sorry, couldn't find a comment button on the other post.

Generally even bad food tastes good here. It'll be late for me at the airport.... Perhaps Dunkin Donuts will be closed!
