Occupy Obama Campaign Offices with Bradley Manning Supporters
Primary tabs
On Thursday, August 16, US military veterans in Portland OR, Oakland CA, and Los Angeles CA, occupied Obama 2012 campaign offices. Six veterans and activists in Oakland, and six more in Portland, OR, were arrested Thursday night at Obama campaign offices for occupying the spaces in solidarity with accused WikiLeaks whistle-blower PFC Bradley Manning. Dozens of veterans and anti-war demonstrators coordinated a West Coast set of actions that also included protests in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Seattle.
Now Afghans For Peace, SF Bay Iraq Veterans Against the War, and the Bradley Manning Support Network are calling for Nationwide Actions at local Obama Campaign Offices, September 6th, 2012, the day of Obama's nomination acceptance speech during the Democratic National Convention!

Very disappointing,
someone from the group emailed me last night with directions to the march, but said that veterans had requested it not take place at an Obama hq. That may apply only to this location in S. California. I'm not sure because there was no other explanation.
Anyway, that was pretty much the point of having this today (timed to O's big speechapalooza tonight), so I'm passing. But I think this requires further investigation. They've moved the march to somewhere in Anaheim. Yes, Anaheim. Really? You think the Disneyland/Knott's Berry Farm crowd give a flying fish about this kind of thing. If I find out more, I'll post about it.
MoveOn or Van Jones?
Rumor has it they're infiltrating to take over the spokesperson slots.
A group called Bradley Manning Support Network
is who I've been in contact with and here's the relevant portion of the email:
It appears to be just here, but who knows? I'm going to see if I can find out more but it may be tomorrow before anyone responds.
Culver City still was listed as being a Obama Campaign Hq protes
see here
Right, and there are a few others too
that would have made sense to protest at, all in LA. Anaheim is not one of them.
Too bad. I even did Petidote way early in case I was in jail. Priorities!
