Of course, the NSA couldn't ALREADY have Beltway Madam Jeanne Palfrey's phone records, right?

Just a passing fancy. Even though the NSA does bug everyone including Aunt Molly, and ratfucking and blackmail are Republican signature moves.
Following up on Atrios's post of the CNN transcript:
[MONTGOMERY SIBLEY:] Well, I'm shocked about two things, if I might, Larry. Please understand that this is one escort service out of approximately 60 [including Shirlington Limo] in the Metro D.C. area. And indeed there are more escort services than there are McDonald's in D.C.
Now what's happened here is one service by the coincidence of Jeane being in California had all the calls recorded in the telephone records [and in the NSA intercepts?], and therefore were able to track the customers back through the record numbers. As the other escort services may or may not coming forward, we're going to get a real full picture of what have goes on in the District of Columbia environments.
[DEBORAH PALFREY:] There's another point that needs to be mentioned as well, perhaps even more important, and that is the susceptibility of blackmail of certain clients having used the service over the years. Most people at the moment for obvious reasons are focusing upon the hypocrisy angle. However, intellectualize a bit, think about it a bit, and you'll come to the conclusion that we've come to, that there are possible people who have used the service who have become subjects and targets of blackmail. And many of these people being in D.C. most likely have security clearances.
So, "intellectualizing" just a little, let's ask ourselves the question that Jeanne and Montgomery didn't explicitly ask:
Who'd be doing the blackmailing?
Surely the most likely scenario would that since NSA is already sucking down everything in secret rooms at the telcos, that they cross-checked the numbers in their feeds with the numbers in the DC yellow pages as a rather simple data mining operation?
Not that the loyal Bushies would ever use sensitive national security information like this for the base political purpose of blackmail...

Blackmailed politicians
It is very likely that EVERY member of Congress and every member of the Bushco regime are being blackmailed into giving Israel anything it wants. Zionists have been spying on Americans since before the Israel was founded. It is very likely that Truman agreed to the abomination called Israel because he was being blackmailed by Zionists.
We need to clean up our government and we should start by making it a death penalty offense for any law maker or law enforcer to violate any American law of any sort. Just as the death penalty is proven to deter murders, it would be effective in deterring legal violations by government officials.
Those goshdarned Zionists
Dear Doug,
Combine those naughty blackmailing Zionists in paragraph one with your modest proposal in paragraph two, and heavens to betsy, I think you've got something!

Crooked Politicians
The remedy will require a return to some practices of antiquity, I am afraid. Of course we need to hang the crooked ones after properly tried. I think we may need to go a level deeper.
For instance, if it is true that Woodrow Wilson was blackmailed into the Federal Reserve and the Brandeis appointment because of $40,000 he needed to pay off his ex-wife about an affair at Princeton, then we need to dig up old Woody and properly hang him. Or, symbolically drop his box out of a cargo plane for target practice...
We need to root these criminals out of our history books as well....
Blackmail
Your above article brings up some good questions as to the technology they have access to blackmail politicians. That's why I linked to it.
They also have other technology they can use to blackmail politicians. I tried to point that out and warn people about it when I wrote a article tittled Sneak Attack On America - New World Order Style.
Of more concern than the NSA warrantless spying on phones, email, fax, that they tell us about, is their thought monitoring program that has gone on in administration after administration.
Ex-Washington Investigative producer for ABC's World News Tonight James Bamford wrote two books on the National Security Agency.
Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, convened a Jan. 20 hearing on the warrantless spying. Among those called as witnesses was James Bamford. Bamford is quoted as telling the committee "Today, the NSA is the largest intelligence agency on earth and by far the most dangerous if not subjected to strict laws and oversight. It has the ability to virtually get into someone's mind."

Vote for politicians who admit they are sleaze bags. That way, they won't be subject to blackmail. Bill Clinton could have helped our country immensely if he had just admitted it and told the blackmailers to drop dead.
may as well throw in the towel
Totally preposterous. Our closest friend and ally and the only democracy in the middle east (tm) is as innocent as a lamb, like the Amish, only smarter and more industrious.
Perhaps a little less shrill.......
I guess I shouldn't be surprised to find paranoid anti-Semitism and a lynch-mob mentality on a web site with the tag line "Boldly Shrill". I am, however, surprised to find this kind of thing on what I think is intended to be a forum for liberal, freedom-oriented thought and speech.
If there is evidence of wrongdoing by anybody, by all means let's hear it so that we can have the opportunity to test its consistency and validity. But condemning whole groups of people because of the wrongdoings of a few, and then clamoring for gallows and nooses, is what the fascists on the political and religious right do. If I am going to insist (and I am) on my right to freedom of thought, speech, and action, within commonsense limits, then I must insist that everyone else's right to the same must be respected.
This means that I must resist the temptation to label all politicians "slezebags" just because some of them actually are, while at the same time I must forcefully reject being labeled a "traitor" by the shrillest voices on the right because I hold to the liberal principles that built the American republic.
So if anyone has evidence of Zionist/Israeli spying on the U.S. beyond what we already know, let's see it. If anyone has evidence of wrongdoing by politicians beyond what we already know, let's see it. If you can't put up the goods, then please moderate the "bold shrillness" a bit.
Er, comments are not posts
Eliminationist rhetoric gets censored. Anything else is fair game, seems to me.
And it's "sleazebags."
(And what do you mean by "beyond what we already know"? Why is that a requirement for a comment that's on point for the original post?)
