The Comb-licking One takes a tumble:

[World Bank] President Paul Wolfowitz will resign at the end of June, he and the bank said late Thursday, ending his long fight to survive pressure for his ouster over the generous compensation he arranged for his girlfriend.

Of course, we’re not saying “generous compensation package,” now are we? Because that would be wrong [snicker].

So, if Wolfie’s resigned, why are Gonzo, Cheney, and Bush still in office?

Since getting a cushy job for your fuck buddy pales in comparison to lying to Congress, starting a war by cherrypicking intelligence, or trashing the Consitution by lawlessly purporting to authorize a massive, illegal, and unconstiutional warrantless surveillance program.

Those are, or ought to be, impeachable offenses.

NOTE And catch this artful wording—international bankers aren’t stupid, whatever else they might be:

“He assured us that he acted ethically and in good faith in what he believed were the best interests of the institution and we accept that,”

Right, they accept that he gave them the assurance. Now, whether they agree with him…
