(CBS/AP) The Pentagon has released a transcript of a military trial at Guantanamo Bay which says that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, a suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, has confessed to a leadership role in that attack and a string of others.“I was responsible for the 9/11 operation from A to Z,” Mohammed is quoted as saying in a statement that was read Saturday at a session of his military trial.
I didn’t know they said “A to Z” in Arabic. But anyway, I’ll give him this much: he lasted four years of waterboarding, beatings, bad hairband metal blaring and buckets for toilets before breaking. That’s tough. At this rate, it’ll take us 10,000 years to win our Eternal Victory over the Towelheads.

Your first line was right; Victory is here. I don’t know why it would take 10,000 years. Clearly with all of the things that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has confessed to he was a one-man jihad. We have the guy who ran every major Al Qaeda operation ever, so the War on Terror has been over for years. We just didn’t know it until now. We’ve won. The only thing left to do now is schedule the victory parade.
"Military trial" seems to replace "tribunal" in reporter-ese
Which is unfortunate, since it lends the destruction of habeas corpus by the McCain Incumbent Protection and Incumbent Enabling Act a spurious legitimacy.
No authoritarians were tortured in the writing of this post.
