Apparently the EU has also lost all sense of proportion when it comes to criminal sentencing.

So, if I understand this correctly, it's 6 years in jail for evading taxes on imported garlic. Wouldn't the appropriate punishment for this offense be a fine? Talk about a victimless crime.

But if you work for a major bank and destroy the economy of several countries, oopsie! You get a bye, just try to do better next time.

I guess it's not only US judges/courts which are criminally insane.
