Obama hands the Oregon voters campaign boilerplate [PDF] and it shows:

BARACK OBAMA: CHANGE OREGON CAN BELIEVE IN
Clean up our Water: ... he will continue his leadership in
protecting national treasures like the Great Lakes ...

Hmm... Let me check a moment:

800px-Map_of_Oregon_NA

Nope. I'm not seeing the Great Lakes in Oregon. Oh, well. It's not like Obama has enough cash on hand to get this stuff right.

BobBank at MyDD has more; there's plenty more that Obama got wrong, and the common thread is that he ignores initiatives that Oregonians have already taken.

Good thing Oregon's not a crucial state.

Oh, wait...

NOTE Trivial gotcha? Or Obama phoning it in and not doing the work? You decide.

Well, I was about to say "trivial"

And more than that, why shouldn't Oregonians care about the Great Lakes. I think all of us would like to hear more from both candidates about how they are going to change the trajectory of the reconstruction work being done in New Orleans, but we haven't, not from either Clinton or Obama.

The Great Lakes are called "great" for a reason, and they don't just belong to the states they border.

Luckily, I clicked through to the MYDD post, and yes, BB makes a good point.

I do think that map was maybe a graphic too far.

he did it at a nursing home too--

he told them all that he's very proud of his transparency stuff that will put everyone govt does online (or something like that)--but the place has no net access, and none of the residents use it at all.

Like the rug-makers who deliberately weave in...

1. It's snark! Hence the map and therefore

2. the point is the link to BB and

3. I'm not the only one who thinks Obama's phoning it in. Even in our famously free press, stenographers commented on how tired he seemed in the Wright presser, and I think Hillary has (via BTD?) something like 33% more personal appearances than he does, and she does custom bullet points by location (see Melissa).

Sorry no links, gotta run, RL....

Tired

He and his campaign are tired. And I can't blame them. I would be dead if I had his schedule, let alone Clinton's.

I can blame them

You might be dead if you had their schedule, BDB, but your not running from President(unless your really Hillary in disguise!!)

I just don't think you should run for president, unless you have the stamina, which he obviously doesn't. And he wants to keep going to November? Please.

I think he believes it will be easier to run against McCain, I mean McCain fell for Rovian tricks in 2000, why not 2008, which is why they have been practicing them on Clinton.

Any Human Would Be Tired

Hell, I know Hillary must be tired. But I agree that she's handling it better, although I really think it has more to do with handling the pressure better than the tiredness. I also suspect the candidate doing well feels the tiredness a lot less than the candidate struggling. A month or two ago, I thought she looked tireder than he did.

But the Oregon stuff was mostly about his staff being tired. And I certainly can understand that. What they need is to bring in some fresh bodies. Clinton has had to do that. Obama needs to do that. Although I'm not sure at this point he will.

what's hysterical is that Bill does more daily than

either 2 candidates, i hear--it feeds him, and talking to people and meeting them SHOULD feed politicians and give them energy to go on--it shouldn't be a draining thing, but an energizing thing, no?

The deal is that it seems innocent enough of course but it's not. The Great Lakes has been a source of contention ever since well probably always.

California has been trying to get our water, the south has been trying to get our water. Georgia wants our water.

http://www.greatlakesdirectory.org/zarti...

Bush had a plan to divert the water to the Great Mississippi, never one to let common sense or conservationism to get in his way. Kinda like Georgia who despite their water crises still has no plans in the work to manage their coastlines to encourage water to stay instead of run off, or Georgia's prayer over common sense strategy of not reinforcing the need for concrete to be permeable instead of run off, which also depletes the groundwater tables.

http://www.greatlakesstories.com/

There has been a lot of pressure on Michigan to let it's water go.

The fact that Obama has been so diligent in his censureship of Michigan and his blatant disregard for the citizens in the State does favor another Bush approach to our water, perhaps his Oregon's resource was a gaffe, and one that Michigan can ill afford to overlook.

No. It's Obama's mind numbing claim to Purity of Essence that's drained his precious bodily fluids.

I might add that the southwest wants our water including Bill Richardson.
