Pffffft....

Reid: No health care vote in Senate until fall. Good. Gives us more time to agitate in the district for single payer.

Now, if only "progressives" would tell Rahm to go fuck himself, and use their big megaphones to start advocating for the best policy -- single payer -- instead of the second best, we might get somewhere.

NOTE Guess that presser wasn't as transcendant as some thought at the time...

UPDATE Or possibly kabuki, giving Obama a chance to show leadership. Not to be cynical....

I'm stunned by this development.

I'm glad for it, but I'm stunned. It suggests to me that DC is not happy with Obama but maybe that's me being naive.

I never what to make of Reid.

I think this works for single payer

I think this is a good thing, but who knows.

i'm cautiously optimisitc

in the way that lemons can be made into lemonade. i for one, intend to use the time to push single payer.

I don't

You all are being awfully naive, here. The slowdown will do nothing more than to make sure that any health care reform dies a slow death in the bowels of the Senate. It's crazy to think that this will somehow this makes single-payer a bigger player. Has everyone conveniently forgot how Congress works? You don't even have to go back any further than the immigration debate to know that to delay means to prepare for burial.

But, we've always been at war with Eastasia...

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
