Pissed Off Enough to Sit It Out

Don’t want to hear it? Too bad. Way to blow the entire election, Dems. Without MI and FL, McStain certainly looks more problematic, no?

The poll also asked what impact the failure to count votes would have on the November elections, and Gelber warned that the results should send a message to national political leaders, and Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Voters said that if the controversy is not resolved and Florida Democratic voters do not have a voice in choosing the Democratic nominee, only 63 percent will still vote with Democrats.

“We need that in the 80s or 90s,” Geller said. Among the other voters: 14 percent said they would send a protest vote and consider voting for a Republican, 12 percent said they were unsure, 6 percent said they wouldn’t vote for the Democrat for president but would for state and local races and 5 percent said they wouldn’t vote at all.

Let me just say that I can understand how they feel.

Gotta say that.....

……’The Boys on the Blogz’ led by the IA primary obsessed Kos have really let ’Wrecker’ Obama do a number on the ’Democrat’ Party.

Oh well, after four years of McCain either Edwards or ’Seven Reasons for Revolution’ will be the new black and we can get to work with those ’More and Better Democrats’ we do get elected this year, next term and then.

Thanks Markos.

Thanks Bowers.

Thanks whoever that assclown at TPM is in charge. You’ve allowed ’The Wrecker’ to split the party and once more, once more my dear friends, snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Very progressive of yah.

Yah little nits.

Dems Giving Themselves a Wedgie

Whoever still populates the Republican Party—along with everyone else (domestic and foreign) who doesn’t want Clinton or Obama as our next president—will be working hard to exacerbate the conflict and block its resolution. This is a test: Can Democrats identify their common interests and resolve this in spite of their differences and in spite of all the outside advice they’re receiving?

Lambert provides one here, laying out the priorities in rational order.

The wedge is being hammered to increase the frustration of Michigan & Florida voters and to spread the poison as wide and deep as possible. The smart way to minimize that frustration and even resolve the issue is to solicit the opinions of the Democratic voters in the two states in a democratic manner. Do we have any idea what the voters want and what they would settle for? If we don’t, how do we find out? If a vote is the only way to find out what they are thinking, then it’s the only way to settle the issue to the advantage of the Democratic Party.

Does the Internet offer any tools for democratizing the process while minimizing the expense?

Library internet terminals...

Everybody can always get on, for free, with library terminals. I’m betting the libraries would be thrilled to democratize access and serve as digital precincts (no irony!)

Digital Precincts!

Libraries! That sounds good. Schools, too. And for the more fortunate, use your own computer, or use your boss’s.

Any chance that the local or national Democrats might open up a channel to solicit input? Would they know who’s a registered Democrat and who isn’t (recognizing that there would still be room for interlopers to misrepresent themselves)?

It's not only MI and FL residents

If the DNC goes Obama/Kos way, it does exactly what the supreme court has done to Gore in 2000. It’s a decision that ignores the voters, which is anti democratic and anti Democrats.

Unless your vote is devoid of principles, how can you vote for Scalia-like party?

For the usual reasons

(assuming bringiton has not yet arisen)

It’s better to vote for sleazy frauds and thieves than to vote for a posse of sociopaths whose leadership class tortures helpless animals.

Tell people to specifically request a re-vote for a primary, not a caucus, in the comment section.
