Dahlia "Clarion"
Seriously, I am not trying to steal the show from YesMaybe. It's just that I started noticing them more since Insectidotes started. Although I always do try to throw in the random pollinator for Lambert.
This is an early morning, in the dew, image.
Clarion is a cultivar of Dahlia, in the single class, so one row of petals. It has dark purple foliage which really sets off the yellow and blush flowers. August is peak flowering time for most Dahlias. A tender perennial in zones 8-10 and an annual to zone 3.

Plants and animals...
go together like a horse and carriage. A most excellent flower, too.
Love how the colors go together
of furry golden bumblebee and petally golden dahlia.
Those purple-leaved dahlias are the best.
