If you have "no place to go," come here!

Please, Mr. Bowers, I'm begging you: Stick with the Ds. Don't go anywhere near #OccupyWallStreet

Ugh.

Keep the "creative class" away! Under the most charitable interpretation, their judgment is awful. Also, too, the shilling.

Yes, where Susan Sarandon goes, Chris Bowers is sure to follow. Getting "established" groups, especially unions, involved in the occupations is good, since IMNSHO the lesson of Tahrir Square is that all walks of life must participate. I guess I'm hoping that the OWS leadership -- present, if not exactly visible -- is a lot more like A6M than, say, the SDS.

Nick Kristof was tweeting from OWS yesterday: "Reminds me of Tahrir Square". Double ugh.

It's kind of like when your favorite neighborhood restaurant has just gotten the NYT rave review and all the trendies descend to check it out.

Still, in my gut I feel that the OWS community is going to survive all this bandwagon jumping by the "official" left. They will embrace them in solidarity, but they won't change their style. Wouldn't be surprised if some of the "official" left ended up changing theirs.

It's not like all stories of corruption in national labor leadership are Republican fabrications. Maybe the union types could learn from the horizontal decision-making.

At least for left wing causes, the national news services don't seem to pay much attention until someone famous or important is involved. That is, assuming no one is killed.

So I'd say that's another plus.

who had not heard about Occupy Wall Street. She has no internet access, unless you do, you would have no way to know. On the other hand, a great many people have internet access.
