AP:
Treasury secretary designee Timothy Geithner is meeting with senators to discuss why he failed to pay personal taxes and check the immigration status of a housekeeper.
Another tempest, another teapot. Meanwhile, two trillion dollars in bailout money's gone missing, and our famously free press doesn't give a fuck. Sorry.
I meant a flying fuck.

They *DO* give a flying fuck
That's why they try to bury it and bring out these "controversies".
BTW, what's with Lugar harping on the Clinton Global Initiative? Seriously, neither Hillary or Bill receive any money from CGI. Perhaps these two issues are going to be efforts to taint the Obama administration as corrupt?
Only tyrants rig elections.
AP as a source
is like Politico, only with fewer letters. Plus this:
so you know what you're in for.
Surely the independent press will cover the real stories...oh, wait... I have to go see what Joe the Plumber has to say, since he's the only network guy on the ground now.
Yep.
Good ol' Nedra (a Michigan State grad, sorry to say). She'll always put the spin in republican tires.
At least you know where she's coming from.
gqmartinez, that's Lugar doing his GOP thing
which is pretty weak, but then he's pretty old.
But yeah, I remember when this crap went around the first time -- Zoe Baird, wasn't it?

Pay no attention to Geithner's role in the fall of Lehman Bros.
No, everyone look at late taxes and the undocumented housekeeper.
Honestly, call me stupid, but why is Obama choosing to reward the very mentality that caused this financial fuckery? I know Wall Street owns him, I do, but he'll have to pay the price if we don't manage to pull ourselves out of this mess, if we get stuck in a deflationary trap. Perhaps they assume the GOP is so damn dead that there's no challenge to him in '12 (and he's probably right), but still. Isn't he worried that the GOP will use any financial setback as fuel to make his tenure as difficult as humanly possible? Maybe he assumes the media will protect him at all costs? I just don't understand why not one person who raised the alarm bells is part of his core economic team, but instead he's got Summers and Geithner leading the charge.
Meanwhile, I hear Bill and Hillary Clinton are using the Clinton Global Initiative to fund jihadi terrorism masquerading as "humanitarian relief."
And because I can't help but wonder, "What if?":
