Wow, it’s the first time I think I’ve ever agreed with John McCain. It was unnerving. Kind of like watching Neil Cuvato and not wanting to punch someone.

Fox really has done a better job covering the primaries. Sure they hate all democrats, but as someone here or at Talk Left said, it’s easier to filter the bullshit when it’s being aimed at both democrats. It’s harder when it’s just aimed at one.

And, let’s face it, it’s hard to get more sexist than the guys MSNBC employs. It’s hard to be more awful than Bill Bennett and Carl Bernstein on CNN. It’s not so much that Fox got better as everyone else has gotten worse. And I hadn’t thought that possible.

The only thing I watch on television is fictional and even then I record it and skip the commercials. Television news isn’t news, it’s punditry and it’s bad punditry at that.

i’ve been less susceptible to WWTSBQ/TSBL. i was depressed for a very short while yesterday—and even that was mostly because the commenters i was hanging out with at TL were depressed, and they in turn, i think, were depressed because they were watching the usual hacks on TV. ugh.

i posted this at TL, but i’m reposting it here, my favorite FDR quote (adapted for present purposes, as bracketed):

Another indication of how y’all have lost your bearings is that when I have note that Hillary is not offering a universal health plan, not a single person has been able to come up with a fact based response. Mandatory insurance purchase is not universal health.

I agree. Obama should have stayed with the DLC songbook and complained ineffectively instead of forcing mccain on the defensive.

The OFB are tropic for the hate trigger, never for the actual content.

It’s rather like playing Mad Lib — just fill in the blank, and boom.

What I want to know is whether the triggers add or multiply. Like, if we used Paul Krugman and Bob Shrum in the same mad lib, would we get 2x the hate, or 4x?
