There really is a "new boy network" among the A-list bloggers, although the people being shuffled to the kids' table are not necessarily all women. And I say the history of the blogosphere really does provide a narrative for How Male Dominance Happens. It's not always intentional, and women are not always innocent victims, yet it's there.

... into the leftysphere was how many of the best and most-respected blogs were solely or substantially written by women. And that's before I knew Digby was a woman's name.

Though I can't claim major "alpha male" cred, most of my interests put me in circles that are male-oriented. So to see what looked like more or less half of the blogs I found worth looking at to be by people who were "differently gendered" than I, I found that notable.

She needs to get out more -- like to the fucking convention she's "reporting" on.

If women didn't blog, I'd have a lot more free time every day. *g*

out of a paper bag, you've got to trust me on this one. sure, they form several cliques of "influential" bloggers, but so far that hasn't really translated into much action, sexist or otherwise. i mean, i suppose it is an accomplishment that ~500 people will post really silly diaries defending your right to be a sexist pig who blows off a woman's safety concerns, but that's a long way from preventing bitches like me from blogging. or being on "important" conference calls and being read by candidates. which we are, as are most better wimmin bloggers.
