Mark Foley has never, ever had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor in his life

Leaving open the question, as Josh points out, of what appropriate sexual contact with a minor might be....

Actually, the safely-locked-away-in-rehab Foley's mouthpiece--couldn't they have gotten a better one?--is trying to make a serious point: technically speaking, Foley isn't a pedophile: He's into underage teenagers, not into 5 or eight year olds unlike so many other Republicans.

But sometimes you just have to compromise. It makes me feel ... dirty, like Matt Drudge, but if in developing this story we'd used words like "thespian" or "ephebophilia" nobody would have had the vaguest notion of what the story was.
