Ray of sunshine on Walker

lambert's picture

Remember the parallel theories that: (1) it would have been better if Clinton had won, because then the career "progressives" who hated her would have held her feet to the fire, which they didn't do and never will do with Obama, and (2) it's better when the Ds are in the minority, because then they oppose looting Social Security with ferocity, instead of supporting it, as they're doing now?

In a way, we're getting a chance to test that theory out in the "state laboratory" of WI:

The Ds, now in control of the Senate, could oppose Walker with ferocity -- as for example by deep-sixing his proposals for mining -- or they could play Walker Lite and "compromise."

Either way, we get a useful result. For those who still believe that the D party apparatus is anything more than the other pustulent boil on Jamie Dimon's Ayn Rand-tatted ass, I'm betting they'll compromise.

But testable outcomes are always nice!

NOTE Man, I sure know how to bring that sunshine, don't I!

"pustulent boil on Jamie Dimon's Ayn Rand-tatted ass"

Way too much visual imagery in that.

Yes, so much sunshine I was reaching for my sun screen. But then I ran into "pustulent boil on Jamie Dimon's Ayn Rand-tatted ass". I'll go wash my hands, now.
Excellent point about testable hypothesis.

Let's plan NOW to take it over. Let's start recruiting discussion leaders. Let's take it over....the world is going to be a dramatically different place by then.

OCCUPY THE NETROOTS!

I don't see a way to take over Daily Kos, which is what taking over Netroots would entail. But we could set up a parallel "Netroots" just as we did a parallel Fiscal Sustainability conference to Pete Peterson.

No booths, however! They only cause trouble...

It absolutely baffles me that the focus of D fundraising is raising money for TV ads in the air war that we cannot win because we'll always be outgunned after Citizens United.

Well, maybe it doesn't baffle me.

special session (how likely is that?) AND the Repubs got their highly R favorable redistricting in place for the November elections. Lehman who replaced Wandgaard (R) may not ever get to vote, and the district will now be solidly red.

See my comments at WI recall thread. Both may show up, so second may not be necessary to get to link about the redistricting maps.

I don't think we're going to have to worry about the DPW for too much longer. In fact the next month or two will hopefully just be mop-up work. It will be refreshing to have one fewer "ally" stabbing us in the back.
