Remember how we'd always laugh when the Republicans gave Democrats advice on how to win?

lambert's picture

Now we're doing it.

Seriously, why would anybody take whoever kidnapped Josh Marshall seriously when he gives advice to Hillary?

Kidz, I'm so old I remember when I thought Talking Points Memo was misnomer, and they were really into news gathering. I thought they wanted to be the next Times, when it turns out they want to be the next Weekly Standard. A shame, really.

Used to be the first political site of the day for me.

I remember when Josh posted the link to the 1984 because he thought it was "clever". I watched it and couldn't see anything clever. I think that's where the snatch happened.

Readers?

Maybe we should run a contest.

We all know Marshall's been kidnapped. But when did it happen?

Talking to the Joshbot

All I know is that when I wrote to Josh a month ago to complain that he was selling his integrity in the service of Obama, he was kind enough to write back, and inform me that I didn't really mean what I had written. I was very grateful that he was there to explain to me that the problem wasn't what he was doing, but rather my failure to understand my own thinking.

But how do you know that was Josh?

That's my question.

I can't say exactly when

but I remember seeing a pro-Obama TPM video last year that explicitly implied that Hillary and Bill were trying to prevent Obama from having a say in the process and that the Clinton machine tries to silence opponents. I haven't been there since, and would never ever ever link there but I do remember seeing a sinister looking Bill Clinton appearing to have a fist directed at someone. I also remember seeing a sinister Hillary looking at Obama.

"Coincidentally", this video appeared at the same time that Hannity started bringing up Vince Foster. That said it all to me. I'm sure I could find the video if I wanted to go to the site, but I don't want to help, in anyway, the person who kidnapped JMM.

It did predate Iowa...

you can search Hannity's transcripts to see when he was talking about Vince Foster.

The Guy Who Kidnapped Josh Has Women Issues...

Apparently Penn wasn't fired, just castrated. Because you know how Hillary is.

See the wonderful Melissa McEwan's post with full screen captures - http://shakespearessister.blogspot.com/2...

And could guys like Marshall telegraph their insecurities about women any more clearly? Seriously, I almost feel sorry for them. Scared a 60-year-old white woman is going to take their balls. How pathetic.

Josh is not alone

List of the kidnapped: Josh, Kos, The Nation, etc. The latter is the real problem. The Nation was, until Obama, part of the foundation of progressives. It's gone as such. Now, we'll have to start the progressive movement from the individuals and the ashes of the "kidnapped."

kidnapped meme

I like the "whoever kidnapped JMM" meme; Somerby as usual brilliantly captures it.

But let's not start saying Kos, the Nation, etc. have been kidnapped. It suggests it's not their fault. No, they are wholly, completely accountable. Whether they will ever account for their transgressions is something else entirely.

not only kidnapped, but assimilated as well.

Great, maybe the rest of us just have some built in immunity.

Good reading! Favorite quote: What could go wrong?
Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
