RFK Jr's statement

lambert's picture

[Welcome NY Times "The Caucus"* readers!]

Via Hillary's campaign, RFK Jr's statment:

“[RFK JR] It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband’s 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense.

Freely translated: Stop your wanking!

Or if that's not possible...

Could you please stop wanking so loudly?

Thank you!

UPDATE Via VastLeft, watch the OFB throw RFK Jr. under the wheels of the HopeMobile! It's fun the whole family can enjoy!

This may not be the best time

for my long and thoughtful "Can we all be friends again?" post, but let be just point out one thing. Bill Burton came out quick with the "unfortunate and has no place in the campaign" response, but Axelrod, dipweed that he is, did get out right on top of that and state as clearly as one can that he did not believe that Clinton meant any such thing. I don't think he, or Obama, can can or should be expected to do much more than that.

This is a media-generated firestorm, and it sucks. I watched KO just to see what he'd do and I was actualy a little concerned for him - a little. He was unhinged, spittle flying from his lips, stuttering and stammering, shaking and jerking like he was being electrocuted. Unhinged.

They are, the lot of them, beyond frustrated, beyond belief, that she's still in this thing. They are terrified of what might happen if she actually pulls it out and they have President Hillary Clinton setting media regulatory policy. They have come unhinged, and are doing more damage to themselves that they are to her.

After all the trash talk thus far, the number of people who think Hillary should stay in the race has increased! That’s the news today that set them off, that’s why the same thing she said before is suddenly reason to have a public mental breakdown hissy fit. They’re afraid – very afraid – that’s a good thing.

Deep breaths, please. Wreak vengance, by all means, but do so with a cold and calculating fury - and choose your targets with care.

Sorry I missed it.

Indeed, revenge is a dish best served cold

Regardless, they still must pay.

the NY Times said Obama was furious when he heard

Link

And I'd like to hear why fury was his reaction to something so bland.

Does he really think she's a monster and every word she says is suspect?

lambert's picture

I checked, this is wrong

I read it exactly the same way. But it says (now, anyhow) "Privately, aides to Mr. Obama were furious about the remark."

Live boy or dead girl

None of this (who said what matters). Deck chairs. Central Bank, Oil, Gold, Food, Derivatives, Credit. They are just keeping it propped up until after the election. How much is a dollar worth?

But who cares about food when Obama is a Messianic Mysogynist and Hillary is a closet racist? And McCain well . . . shit - he's Maverick.

bringiton's picture

"The NY Times said"

What? Repeated a rumor? Why? To gin up the conflict? "Let's you and her fight!" Screw the lying NYT, and the ink they rode in on.

Lambert's BFF!

Katy Seelye or Selyee or Seelyee or whatever:

"Privately, aides to Mr. Obama were furious about the remark."

That's all she's got? "Aides to Mr. Obama" are perpetually furious. So what?

This is a media storm, not Obama's fault. Watch your aim.

Xeno, lying media whores does matter. One of a long list, but still one of the things on the list.

Did I say something wrong?

Aids were furious... I thought it said Obama was furious. (shrug)

lambert's picture

No (shrug)!

We have to get it right -- or else we lose the media critique again, just like the A list.

Statement from the Argus Leader

5/23/2008
Statement from the Argus Leader

The Argus Leader’s Executive Editor Randell Beck issued the following statement today:

"The context of the question and answer with Sen. Clinton was whether her continued candidacy jeopardized party unity this close to the Democratic convention. Her reference to Mr. Kennedy's assassination appeared to focus on the timeline of his primary candidacy and not the assassination itself."

FrenchDoc's picture

It's too late

we'll just have to let rabies run through the infected population that we need to keep isolated and create healthy, safe havens like Corrente and The Confluence where sanity still prevails.

If, inadvertently, you've been in contact with the infected population, I recommend a solid dose of Scary Smart Anglachel. You should recover your sanity and rationality almost instantly.

RFK Jr. is part of the plot.

That's what I was going to say, but it's impossible to satirize these people. They really believe it!

lambert's picture

Now, besides "What would I know? I'm a racist!" ...

... I have to go "What what I know? I'm in favor of political assassination!" I guess I'll finally get an answer to my other question, which is who I have to blow at the NSA.....

Beyond war, inflation, the end of the technology/productivity wave, and financial collapse, we think the most potent and short-term threat would be societies demanding a more ‘equitable’ share of wealth.
